Jeder Buchstabe repräsentiert einen Audiokanal, aus dem die Stimme eines Sprechers zu hören ist. Ausgangsmaterial der Sprachcollage sind Auszüge aus Grundsatzprogrammen verschiedener politischer Parteien zum Thema Kunst und Kultur - Monologe politisch wahrer wie korrekter Positionen, die einen Reflektionsraum über kulturelle Jetzt-Zustände schaffen. · Manifesto (2009). 8-channel sound installation (voice: Hans Brückner). Written on the wall, in letters formed from miniature loudspeakers, is the
German word for
“manifesto”: “MANIFEST”. Each letter represents an audio channel, from which the voice of a speaker can
be heard.
The starting material for this audio collage has been gathered from the
manifestos of various political parties on the theme of art and culture
– monologues reflecting politically true and correct standpoints and affording
scope for reflection on cultural status quos.

Auf einer Wandfläche im sonst leeren Ausstellungsraum erscheint der Schriftzug ORTSBEZOGEN, der aus 182, in einem Punktraster gesetzten Lautsprechern besteht. Der Schriftzug benennt einerseits den Titel der Arbeit und ist zugleich Teil der Klanginstallation. Dabei geben die in elf Gruppen gefassten Lautsprecher simultan Textpassagen wieder, die den Selbstdarstellungen und Satzungszielen deutscher Kunstvereine entstammen. Es entsteht ein vielstimmiger Chor der annähernd immer gleichen, relativ inhaltslos und allgemein gefassten Programmatiken, die fast mantrisch beschwörend den Ausstellungsraum (eines Kunstvereins) füllen. · Site-specific (2004). 11-channel sound installation (voice: Roland Brus).

“Written” on the wall of an otherwise empty exhibition room is the German word for “site specific” - ORTSBEZOGEN - formed in dot matrix fashion from 182 loudspeakers. The word is
at once the title and a component part of the audio installation. The eleven
groups of loudspeakers (corresponding to the number of letters) simultaneously
reiterate the statements taken from the manifestos and statutes of German art
societies and associations. The result is a many-voiced chorus of virtually
identical, relatively meaningless and generalized declarations that fill the
exhibition room (of an art society) like a mystical incantation.
Warten (2006). 6-kanalige Klanginstallation (Sprecher: Hans Brückner, Susanne Mocka). Eine Rundsitzbank bietet über ausgelegte Kopfhörer das anonyme und intime Hörangebot mehrerer Monologmontagen, die auf Interviews mit Mitgliedern eines
Spezialeinsatzkommandos der Bereitschaftspolizei zu erlebten Wartesituationen
im Einsatz beruhen.
· Waiting (2006). 6-channel sound installation (voices: Hans Brückner, Susanne Mocka). A circular bench equipped with headphones enables listeners to “bug” anonymous and intimate monologues based on interviews with members of a special
commando strike force on their experiences while waiting to go into action.
Wie sich dem lebenden Hasen der tote Beuys erklärt (2006). Installation, 300x300x70 cm. Einundvierzig Jahre nach Joseph Beuys’ spektakulären Aktion greift eine Installation das Thema variierend auf und stellt die Frage nach der aktuellen Präsenz dieses großen Künstlers: In einem großräumigen Stall bewohnen zwei Hasen den Ausstellungsraum und werden mittels Projektion mit zentralen Begriffen des Beuys ’schen Werkes konfrontiert. · How the Dead Beuys is Explained to the Living Hare (2006). Forty-one years after Beuys’s spectacular performance, Giegold’s installation suggests a variation on the theme and questions the relevance of
this great artist today: two hares in a large hutch in the middle of the
exhibition room are confronted with projections of the main notions behind
Beuys
’s work.
